Green Campus Policy

Green campus initiatives

The institutional initiatives for greening the campus are as follows:

  1. Restricted entry of automobiles : The College has made arrangements for parking the vehicles of the students & staff in the college campus.
  2. Use of Bicycles/ Battery powered vehicles :Students who are staying in nearby college are using bicycle for transportation for reducing both pollution and fuel usage. Most of the students and faculties are availing Bus Transport facility.
  3. Ban on use of Plastic : Use of plastic cup & poly-bags are strongly discouraged in the campus. Awareness posters and pamphlets are displayed in prime locations of the campus.
  4. Paperless office: Most of the official communications like notices, program , communications, minutes are shared through SMS or WhatsApp or e-mails. The college gives emphasis on paperless office to save carbon emission in printers. one –side paper printouts is also being done Reuse of The instructions regarding this have already been given to the students and the staff members.
  5. landscaping with trees and plants :Our institution had environment where the entire campus is filled with all plants & trees, which provide natural & pure oxygen which in turn helps good health of students & faculty. Students, Teaching & Non-teaching staff as well as the principal, Management officials participated in the plantation program which was witnessed on Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti & Republic Day. Campus beautification was done by planting bushes in pots around the office building. A check has been consistently kept for watering such plants & maintaining them.
  6. ‘No Smoking, No Tobacco’ in campus area :Tobacco and tobacco products are strictly prohibited in the college premises and consuming Tobacco and tobacco products is a punishable offence. The instructions regarding this have already been given to the students and the staff members.

    The Institution have facilities for the management of the following types of degradable and non-degradable waste.
    Solid waste management :
  • With smart initiatives like Go Green Campus Model, Waste Management is helping our college, to achieve a higher level of environmental performance.
  • Each floor is provided with dry waste collecting bins every day and collected, and hand over to concern. Sufficient quantity of bins provided at wet waste prone areas like cafeteria.
  • All the waste from the campus, canteen and hostel is collected and segregated into wet & dry waste and treated properly before disposal.
  • The infrastructural waste like construction materials used for the fills and road ways where ever necessary in the campus or for the needy people.
  • Institute has taken initiatives for implementing a composting plant inside the campus for converting the organic and gardening wastes to produce good quality manure.
    E-waste management:
  • The E-waste management has been given due focus and all Electronic goods are put to optimum use; the minor repairs are done to set right the equipment by the staff and the Laboratory assistants; and the major repairs, by the professional technicians, and are reused
